I bought a new set of cookware. It was a nice set of stainless steel with copper bottoms. I read and followed the instructions for use very carefully since I had never cooked with stainless. I had used the frying pan twice when I realized that the copper color on bottom is fading. Is this normal?

It is a result of air.
If you scrub the bottom with some good soap. Then, rub some lime. Leave it for a while. Wash off.
You get the color back.
