Is it safe to use nonstick cookware after the coating has come-off?
Author: Someone told me to dispose non-stick cookware if the teflon coating has come off the cooking surface.

Throw the pan away no matter if it’s a little or allot…I just went through this with my pans and was advice to get new..
You shouldn’t you may end up ingesting some Teflon. Best to replace pan
Usually the worry of poisoning from non-stick is from the actual teflon coating… therefore if it ALL gone… you should be fine… but if it is still chipping off, and you think it’s poisonous, don’t use it. A general rule of thumb with household poisoning warnings is that it usually takes ALOT of whatever it is before it can actually do much damage. Unless of course it’s like anti-freeze or something serious like that.

Well, maybe I shouldn’t, but I have. I clean it with a scratch pad that I would never use on my good teflon. Used it for a few years and I’m ok. Don’t expect it to be non-stick anymore.
