What is the best brand and material of cookware?
We are getting married and I want to register for the best (most durable, safe, easy to use etc) cookware available. We cook a lot and have been dealing with cheap pots and pans for so long that the paint flakes off, or they rust. Any recommendations on what is the best kind to buy? Thanks
Is stainless steel the best material to get?
Stainless steel, but with an aluminum or copper core. Stainless steel by itself it a poor conductor of heat, although it’s a wonderful cooking surface, easy cleanup and is dishwasher safe.
Copper is superior for heat conductivity and retention, but is very expensive and high maintenance. You can get the same benefit by buying cookware that’s a triply ply: a copper core sandwiched between stainless steel layers.
You don’t have to spend the big bucks on All Clad. There are online suppliers of cookware that are less expensive. Plus, you may have a restaurant supply store in your area. Most sell to the public.
In my humble opinion, "All Clad" is the very best overall cookware. It’s not cheap and will last you a lifetime. Here’s an example. About 4 years ago I paid $138 for a 3-quart saucier (sauce pan). It still looks new and works perfectly!!!!
calaphon DO NOT BUY any non stick pans…maybe just1 for eggs
All mine is stainless steel with copper bottoms for best heat distribution.
I heard ALL CLAD but there expensive i recently registered at Macy’s but the ones from Emeril look and I heard there good and more reasonable but I guess it depends if your wedding party is willing to spend…. Why Not
Host a ( Or suggest you’d like it if the bride’s maids did) Pampered Chef party. They have awesome cookware, and they have lifetime guarantees. Plus you’ll be helping someone else out too. It’ll probably be tons of fun, and you’ll get lots of great stuff.
Pyrex or Kitchen Aid are awesome! They are very durable and offer great quality.
hope I helped!
